Board of Directors

Chair: John W. Irwin, BA (University of Toronto), LLD (McMaster University)
A retired book publisher (Irwin Publishing), John Irwin is an active member in many church and para-church organization, having served on the boards for McMaster Divinity College, Toronto School of Theology, Wycliffe College, The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and Scripture Union, to list a few. He is committed to supporting and furthing the evangelistic mission of the Church and the authority of Scripture. Along with his wife, M. Eleanor Irwin PhD, are active members of the church community at St Paul’s Bloor Street, Toronto ON.
Irwin also serves on the Audit Committee.

 

Treasurer: Ian Grant, BA, B.Ed. (University of New Brunswick), M.Ed. (University of Alberta)
A native of Saint John, NB, Ian Grant has enjoyed a thirty-five year teaching career in the Saint John area as a teacher, principal and school supervisor. Grant has served as a member of church councils in Anglican and Presbyterian congregations in various parts of the province. He has been involved, at some capacity, with Threshold Ministries since 1972 with the beginning of the Atlantic Outreach Committee. Following retirement, he and his wife, Kay relocated to the north eastern part of New Brunswick and has been involved within the health community - Miramichi Regional Hospital, Tabusintac Nursing Home and others.
Grant also serves on the Audit Committee.

 

Member: Andrew Barker


Past-Chair: Peter Bloom, BA, M.Ed (University of Pittsburg)
An experienced educator, Bloom began at a young age doing experimental teaching with at-risk youth in Pennsylvania.  Following this, he came back to Canada to serve with IVCF leading toward a 23 year career as the Director of Pioneer Camp in Ontario.  Passionate about equipping people to share the Gospel, Bloom has traveled across the globe training leaders.  Currently, he serves as the Canadian Ambassador for Christian Camping International.  Along with his wife, Barbara, they are active members of the Port Syndey community.
Bloom also serves as a member of the Threshold Ministries International Council.

 

Member: Kathy Bell, BA
Kathy Bell emigrated to Canada, from England, at the age of 9. Following studies at Toronto Bible College and Teacher’s College, she taught for two years in northern Manitoba. Bell’s career took her to Pakistan where she served as a missionary for 34 years with SIM. She was involved in evangelism, church planting, teaching and much more. Returning to Canada in 2000, she has continued to remain active in ministry and occasionally preparing and leading teams back to Pakistan on short-term missions.

 

Member: Terrence O. Buckle

Terry Buckle was born in Simcoe Ontario, in 1940.  He graduated from the Church Army Training College and was commissioned as an Evangelist in the Anglican Church of Canada in 1962.  He and his wife, Blanche, began their ministry in the north of Canada in 1966 when they moved to the Northwest Territories, Diocese of the Arctic. In 1973, Terry was ordained as a Priest and in 1993 he was elected as Suffragan Bishop of the Diocese of the Arctic. He was later, in 1995, elected as Bishop of the Diocese of Yukon. In 2004, Terry was elected as Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of British Columbia and Yukon. Terry and Blanche now living in retirement, reside in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, where they continue their northern ministry.

Non-Voting Member: Fred Ketchen
Fred Ketchen has been working on Bay Street since Diefenbaker was in the Prime Minister's Office. (He started at McLeod Young Weir, which is now part of Scotia Capital). He brings his long-term perspective to the dozen or so television and radio broadcasts he does daily. Refusing to consider retirement, he also does about 100 presentations a year to investors.
