Threshold Ministries' Shawn Branch and Bonnie Hunt represented our many ministries at Jesus to the Nations, in Halifax, Nova Scotia on March 18th-20th. Jesus to the Nations is Atlantic Canada's Missions Conference, and happens annually. This year the conference, held at Mount Saint Vincent University, featured special guest speakers Geordan (International President of Youth for Christ) & Marilyn Rendle (Global Connections Coach), as well as Jerry Chee (Coordinator with Power to Change). The theme scripture verse for the weekend was found in Isaiah 40, "Here I am, send me."

The annual conference features “special plenary speakers and exhibitors who have answered God’s call to go to the ends of the earth or to reach people in cross-cultural opportunities.” Through the sessions, workshops and resources available at the missions’ displays, “we get to observe how God is moving in different communities around the world, and how we may play a part in God’s plans and purposes today!"

It is always a blessing to be a part of an event like this, surrounded by and in community with hundreds of people celebrating what God is doing in their ministries, and how we can get more people focused on missions.

Just after Jesus rose from the grave, Matthew 28 records that He commissioned His disciples, saying:

“Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The great commission applies to far more than just those who feel called into ministry as a vocation. “Here I am, send me” can be an answer to the call that Jesus made to each one of His followers.

Thanks to all those who worked tirelessly to put on such a beneficial event. See you at J2N2017!
