OUR MISSION

Threshold Ministries exists to bring Everyone, no matter what their background, into a living relationship with Jesus and his people.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you took me in, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Matthew 25:35-36

Street Hope Victoria aims to mitigate the despair at the nexus of homelessness and addiction in the downtown core in Victoria, BC by walking with the poor. We offer food, clothing, encouragement, prayer, and a weekly connection/discussion/reflection group.

Day 1 Pray that light, love, peace, and healing rain down on the 900-block of Pandora and similar areas in the city of Victoria.

Day 2 Pray that the love of Jesus will flow through the Street Hope Victoria outreach teams and impact the lives of those who are suffering and in despair.

Day 3 Pray that God would provide safety and security for the volunteers going into these potentially dangerous streets.

Day 4 Pray for the financial provision for Street Hope Victoria to be able to achieve the vision in our hearts.

Day 5 Pray for wisdom, divine guidance, and favour as Lisa leads the small group at Our Place Society and seeks to start other groups.

Day 6 Pray that God would draw additional volunteers to our various teams.

Day 7 Praise, thanksgiving, and gratitude to God for the opportunity to walk out Christ’s redemption on the street.

Day 8 Pray for Norbert Haukenfrers, chairman of the board, as he lends his pastoral heart, gifts and guidance to the Threshold Board.

Day 9 Pray for Doug Schindel, treasurer of the board, as he skilfully helps to guild the finances of Threshold Ministries.

Day 10 Pray for Marilyn Otis, Interim National Director, as she continues to oversee all aspects of the ministry including projects and financial stability.

Day 11 Pray for Deborah Moyo, National Director, while she is on maternity leave.  Pray that she will have a restful and joyful time with her family.  We look forward to her return with many stories of her current adventures.

Day 12 Pray for the projects of Threshold Ministries.  May they reach the lost and marginalized people who, more than anything else, need to find the love of Jesus that can transform their lives.

Day 13 Pray for the financial stability of Threshold Ministries.  This is a difficult financial time for most with so much uncertainty in the world.  Pray that Threshold can withstand these difficult financial times.

Day 14 Pray for Threshold donors and prayer partners.  We thank God for their generosity and compassion for those we serve.  May He truly bless them.

Day 15 Pray for new Threshold projects.  As we continue to seek God’s guidance in how to move Threshold forward, pray as we seek new and exciting ways to reach and serve more people.

Day 16 Pray for Church Army, UK, our sister ministry.  We have not forgotten our roots and we thank God for the work that is being done in the UK.  Please pray for God’s continued blessing on their ministry.

The mission of Threshold House is to provide a post-treatment Christian community and transitional housing for men who have completed a 12-step rehabilitation program. We walk with men who choose to live addiction-free to see those once bound by addictions set free by the power of Christ.

Day 17 please pray for Marilyn Otis, Threshold House Director, as she develops relationships with local churches and businesses and builds community support.

Day 18 Jeremy Robinson, Addiction Services Coordinator, has been helping the men of Threshold House to transition to life after Rehab. Please pray that Jeremy will be able to help the men go back to school, find employment and find their place in the community.

Day 19 At Threshold House, men have the opportunity to go back to school to further their education.  Please pray for volunteers to help tutor the men.

Day 20 Please pray for the Inner Healing classes and the Friday night recovery nights held at Threshold House residents as well as those in the community.

Day 21 The cost for one man to live at Threshold House is $1000.00 per month.  Many, if not all of the men come to TH on Social Development.  Please pray that donors and churches will join us in sponsoring a man by donating the $250.00/month difference between what the men can afford and the cost to have them.

Day 22 Threshold House is spreading the news across NB of what TH is and how men are being set free by the power of Christ.  Please pray as we go into churches, businesses and rehab centres, meeting with counsellors and potential future residents.

Day 23 Please pray for the continued financial support from donors. These donations are essential to continuing the ministry in Saint John, NB.

Street Hope Peterborough is a Chaplaincy Ministry that offers practical and spiritual care to some of the most troubled people in our community.  It is our desire to help bring about meaningful change into the lives of broken people and to be used by Jesus to share His love in practical ways to bring hope into the lives of lonely, lost, and hurting individuals.  We seek to welcome everyone we share His love with into a personal relationship with Jesus as their eternal hope

Day 24 please pray for the outreach of Street Hope Peterborough as we continue the work on reaching those usually discarded and forgotten.

Day 25 once again this summer we are planning outreaches in Victoria Park in downtown Peterborough. Please pray that as we plan for these outdoor events again that the Holy Spirit will guide our efforts of sharing with many people this summer.

Day 26 our Mercy Bags that are filled with practical items and spiritual resources like an Intouch Messenger, New Testament, and other Christian literature, have touched many lives over the past few years. As we continue to assemble and distribute these gift bags, please pray that every one of them will bear abundant, life changing fruit in many hearts.

Day 27 today we want to praise Jesus for our volunteers who give of their time and talents to the ministry of Street Hope Peterborough.

Day 28 we continue to praise Jesus for His work in the lives of people we are supporting in our community through our Chaplaincy outreach with federal offenders. Please pray that those we support will come to know Jesus as Saviour and Lord!

Day 29 we are very thankful for the eternal hope Jesus offers to us and He is the One we always want to honour and glorify in all that is done through Street Hope Peterborough. Please pray that we will always stay faithful to Him and to God’s word in all we do!

Day 30 please pray for individuals we are supporting in our 4 federal halfway houses. Many of the offenders we support have complex needs after spending many years in prison.
